St. John's Indian Dog
The St. John's Indian Dog is a recreation of the now extinct dog the St. John's Water Dog. A breed used by Canadian Natives to carry and pull heavy loads and swim out in the Atlantic Ocean/St. John's Bay, retrieving huge nets filled with fish back to shore. The extinct breed was a combination of Native Canadian dog mixed with Newfoundland, another Canadian Native creation. This breed is in fact the foundation bloodxxxx for the present day Labrador and Golden Retrievers. The St. John's Indian Dog is a mixture of Native American Dog(NAID) and the Newfoundland. They are non-droolers, shed only once annually, have no doggy odor and are Hypoallergenic like is the NAID. They have no known health defects common with the Newfoundland and most other dog breeds and are highly sought after for their assist dog, therapy dog, seeing eye dog capabilities, just to mention a few talents they possess.
