Meet... "Scooter"

We have raised this designer puppy inside our dining room - in Springfield - with a doggy door (along side two other dogs, a sibling puppy, a cat and our pre-teen daughter). Scooter's been played with - both indoors and outdoors - daily since he was old enough to walk. We also have a fenced-in, half-acre shady back yard, so, he's had plenty of outdoor playtime.
Scooter's been crate trained nightly and taken out to the yard as soon as he wakes up. This little guy - who, at 10-wks-old, is ALREADY housebroken to newspapers and our doggy door - is a half/half designer mix of the Maltese and Havanese and has a life span of around 15 years.
The "Havamalt" is small in size but large in personality! (Look up info on the breed to see the wonderful traits of this pup). The Maltese is one of the oldest toy sized breeds there are and he can be traced back for at least 2000 years; some believe the Maltese was developed on the Isle of Malta. This custom breed often takes part in agility shows. Scooter responds well to training that includes food rewards and he especially loves learning tricks, mostly because of the one-on-one attention he's getting.
Both of Scooter's parents have papers. Scooter has filled our house with his adorable presence and is going to be a great companion and lap dog for a lucky family, for a single person or for seniors. Scooter will need to NOT be left alone all day, though, because he's never been without some of his companions. Scooter is used to being with people and/or other dogs, as he is from a very PEOPLE-ORIENTED breed. Havanese don't do well at all when left for long periods of time without companionship. "Not doing well" means unhappiness and boredom, which they may try to vent through developing barking and destructive chewing!

Scooter is clever, eager to please, agreeable, willing. He really couldn't be any easier to train! Scooter will listen to commands and will need less repetition so he will learn more quickly than many other dogs. Scooter has had early socialization with other dogs, cats and people in our home. He has been fed the highest quality organic, grain-free (½ to 1 cup) dry dog food a day divided into two meals. Scooter rarely - almost never - barks!

But I assure you, we are very much a real family in Springfield with this sweet puppy living in our dining room and back yard.
