AKC Male & Female Doberman pair
Male and Female pair cannot be separated. Must stay together. Born April 1 2021. This is absolutely heartbreaking for our family, as Ruth and Boaz are both such a large part of it and have been for almost two years. They have been with us since we first brought them home as puppies around eight weeks old. We are devastated, but needing to rehome due to severe allergies which developed for me about a year ago. When they were around ten or eleven months old…I developed allergies to them both, almost overnight. Since then, it has been over a year later and we have tried almost everything we can, in order to keep them with us because we could not stand the thought of letting them go. However, even now, I am still very miserably allergic. As much as we wish we could keep them, we have come to the painful realization that it is not what is best for my health. And they both deserve to be in a home where they no longer have to wear little spandex jumpsuits around the house, can cuddle on the couch once again, feel the soft plush of a nice bedroom carpet beneath their paws, and not have to listen to a vacuum following closely behind at every turn. They are both AKC registered, neutered, and spayed. Neither of them has ever been bred. They are up-to-date on all vaccines and checkups. They take monthly heartworm and flea prevention and are on a diet of dry food salmon formula. We believe she may have a skin allergy connected to chicken and have had much success since switching over to the salmon formula about five or six months ago. She loves to cuddle on the couch and is very easy-going and sweet-natured. He is also very sweet and playful. They have been trained with Dutch commands and are still learning new ones. We will include a list in their take-home packets. They are both potty-trained and crate trained. They enjoy playing outside, but Dobermans are known to be sensitive to heat and cold and these two are no exception. They are inside dogs, only. If you are looking for guard dogs to primarily live outside and "look tough"-- these are not going to be them, so please do not message me. We homeschool and they are used to being with us every day. We are searching for a home where they will be blessed with the same environment they are used to, as much as possible. This means someone who will be home with them, each day, and not looking to crate them up while they leave for work every morning. They thrive when they are with their family and this is what they are used to. A home with experience regarding Doberman breed is preferred. I can’t say or guarantee how they will be around new animals, new people, new environments, etc. In my opinion, dogs— like humans— can be unpredictable and even though they may have been great with us—I can’t say with 100% certainty how they will be with you or your family or how any dog will be with you or your family. I hope you understand. I believe the choice of bringing any new dog into a family should always be decided with the utmost caution, respect, and thoughtfulness. Ruth and Boaz have always been together, love each other, and must stay together. We are choosing to trust you to take the best care of them and love them as much as we do. Please do not pursue their adoption into your family unless you are emotionally, physically, and financially capable of taking care of them both and fully aware and prepared for all of the responsibilities that come with ownership. We have spent thousands of dollars on them, up to this point, and were aware of this responsibility before bringing them into our family. What we were not expecting or prepared for-- was the sudden onset of severe allergies after almost a year of owning them. If you are still interested and would like to hear more about them or have any questions— I would love to set up a phone interview with you and will add you to the call-back list. This is very difficult for us to let them go and in order to help ensure that we find the best fit for them and their new family, we will be interviewing all potential new owners via phone. Afterward, we will schedule in-person meetings with those candidates who would like to move forward. If you would like to schedule a phone interview, please send an email with your name, phone number, and the best date and times to contact you.View Detail
