We have Beautiful Male and Female, Hand reared the Male is very protective of the Female so wont let us handle him at the moment. the male is 12 months and Female is nearly 11 months, Cites paperwork for both one is microchiped and the other closed ring, they are now kept outside in an aviary, our Scarlet Macaw are very beautifully colored birds that will grow to about 34-35inches in length. They are covered in bright scarlet-red feathers over most of their bodies. The wings have a sport blue, green, and yellow colored feathers. these Scarlet Macaws are sensitive, cuddly, and entertaining birds. They mimic human sounds and voices and learn a number of tricks. They have been provided with stimulation including toys, climbing tools, training, and plenty of human attention and interaction. They eat organic pellet based diet. To supplement the pellets, look to provide a large variety of fresh fruits and vegetables including: hot peppers of any color, berries, papaya, mango, melon, banana, yams and carrots. Nuts and seeds are also good however due to their high fat content are best left as treats and rewards. Of course fresh water ALWAYS! Scarlet Macaw parrots need a lot of space to move around, feed, and climb. They like to be around other people; it makes them feel more secure and helps to calm their natural protective instincts. They need 2-3 hours a day outside their cage. Our Scarlet Macaws need time to socialize if not they will become agitated.
