’m a retired RN living in Canby OR & this puppy is from my 3 1/2 year-old AKC registered Yorkshire terriers. They are traditional Steel Blue (silver) & tan color & the puppies will be that color as adults. ALL Yorkshire terrier puppies are born black & tan & progressively change into their adult silver & tan coats beginning at around 6 months old & usually complete their color change by 18 months old. My sire is Toby (Tobias Noble Dreams) & my dame is (Hailey Rose). They both came from Champion show lines & were purchased with “AKC breeding privileges” for an additional fee of $500 each so these pups are AKC quality show dogs & can be registered with AKC- which is an additional fee the buyer traditionally pays if they want it! Benji (Benjamin Button) is small at 2 lbs. 4 oz. at 9 weeks old, (Born 5/3/24)but sturdy outgoing & agile like his mother! He already climbs up & down the stairs to get into my bed! He sleeps with his parents &I in my bed & he’s had no accidents in bed. He generally wakes me with a gentle whimper midway through the night &I place him on his potty paper next to my bed. When he’s finished he’s ready to get right back in & go to sleep- sometimes with a little extra belly rub to relax him. I had his dewclaws removed but I have chosen to never dock tails after my last litter cried for 6 hours straight after the numbing medicine wore off following the vet docking their tails. I swore never again after that. He’s had routine worming & his first vaccine will be administered at 10 weeks old. DIET: Fully weaned from mom at 7 1/2 weeks. Royal Canin puppy loaf & starter wet food in sauce we’re his first foods & later added Royal Canin dry kibble. Once daily at 4 PM they get fresh cooked vegetables(peas green beans carrots cauliflower broccoli squash yams scant amount of corn) rice & meat: chicken or hamburger or turkey or cod or salmon. DONT GET SCAMMED! True breeders will always be willing to talk with you on the phone & assess the safety & appropriateness of the home their puppy is being sent to! You will see the parents if you are purchasing one of my puppies. ARE YOU READY FOR A YORKIE? Please consider all of the long term expenses and time involved and ask yourself if you’re ready to own a Yorkie! Please research the breed and make sure you can meet the criteria for taking on this responsibility before you consider purchasing! They are like having a toddler & need their little faces washed with attention the eye areas daily followed by a wipe down of their urinary & rectal areas; teeth brushed; baths every 2–3 weeks with puppy shampoo & conditioner for their human like hair; Groomer visits for shampoo/ haircut & nail trims every 6- 8 weeks (adult groomer visits cost an average of $65 per visit & puppy visits usually start at around $45); Dental hygiene/teeth cleaning every 18 months (costs approximately $500) – you do not want your Yorky to lose its teeth; Plus at 9-10 months old you’ll likely have to have baby teeth pulled if they have not lost all of their baby teeth yet -this must be done in order to preserve proper jaw alignment & correct bites as adult teeth come in (average cost $2-300); spay or neuter at 1-2 years-old (average cost $600); annual vaccines & vet exams (average $200 – $300 yearly) &a reserve account for emergencies like: ear or eye or skin or bladder infections bladder stones etc.
