When singer/songwriter, TERESA, is not on tour, she spends her time on her farm in Robertson County, Tennessee. She grows most of her own fruits and vegetables and tends cattle, chickens and AKC Registered Standard Poodles. Her Standard Poodles, Ann and Dan, named for the famous hounds in the classic film, Where The Red Fern Grows, are a brother and sister duo. Super-Mom, Ann was bred to a stud named Cooper and gave birth to her second litter, 13 puppies, on November 4, 2022. “I find such joy in raising puppies on my farm. The first 3 to 4 months in a puppy’s life are formative and my farm offers a wonderful start to their sweet little lives. Firstly, their whelping area is my shower stall, so they are born and live in my log home. While I do not pass judgement, my puppies are never kenneled. Instead, they move freely between the house and outdoors and I start working on house-breaking immediately. By the time they leave the farm, they have been crate-trained, integrated with my barnyard friends and have played all over the property. They have also been socialized, hosting several puppy parties and playdates where they are introduced to other dogs, large and small, and are handled by numerous children and adults. When they are ultimately turned over to their forever families, they are well adjusted, happy, healthy puppies with calm and gentle dispositions. And while I do not guarantee that they are housebroken, they are very close. I recommend keeping them here on the farm for a minimum of 8 weeks, but if a new owner would like a more trained pet, I suggest them leaving them for 12-16 weeks. “I consider myself a boutique breeder as I only feature one litter per year. I truly love the process of pairing the perfect puppy with the perfect family.” MORE… The Standard Poodle is known the world over for its iconic curls, unshakeable loyalty, and deceptively “aristocratic” appearance. Commonly associated with France, the Standard Poodle was actually developed in Germany as a type of Water Dog. The breed’s prowess at duck hunting was soon out-shown by its iconic appearance and beguiling intelligence. Second only to the Border Collie, the Poodle is considered one of the smartest breeds in the world and is one of the most capable dog breeds in history. Poodles have time and again proven themselves to be the perfect canine companion, having won more than a dozen international dog shows, including the highly competitive Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, where Poodles have won “Best in Show” twice. Poodles are generally considered to be a very sturdy breed with few health issues. Their life expectancy ranges from 10-18 years. Through the long history of genetically breeding calm, compassionate, and intelligent dog, most Poodles live a perfectly healthy long life. Poodles not only have fabulous hairdos, but they also excel in agility dog-sport activities. Again, Poodles rank as the second most intelligent dog breed; As far as I’m concerned Poodles are #1. Border Collies are clever and cute doing tricks, but it is hard to beat a Poodle’s intelligence when you live with one. Any Poodle person will agree that Poodles are easy to train using the usual techniques of repetition, patience, and rewards. When done correctly, there are almost no limits to what poodles can learn. Poodles enjoy learning new tricks and are great with people, including children and other pets. With all these qualities, it’s no wonder so many families have Poodles. I enjoy a peaceful farm life and raising puppies in this setting is a joyful experience for me and, I believe, for them, too. They are imprinted with other dogs as well as large animals. They are not kenneled. Instead all puppies are born and raised in my log cabin and play in and outdoors. I provide a loving, gentle & secure environment for them which results in loving, gentle and secure pets. By the time puppies leave my farm they are fully weaned, vaccinated, crate-trained and well on their way to being house broken. I host several Pop-Up Puppy Parties so each puppy is loved and handled by many children and adults. All in all, my farm prepares them perfectly for their forever families. I raise Standard Poodles, Cows, Chickens and most of my own food. I enjoy a peaceful farm life & raising animals in this setting is my great honor. Welcome to my farm!
