Frequently Asked Questions
What is a stud service for Golden Retrievers?
A stud service is a breeding service where a male dog, known as the stud, is paired with a female dog to produce puppies. This service is essential for maintaining the quality and lineage of the breed.
What should I look for in a stud service?
When seeking a stud service, ensure that the male dog has been health cleared for genetic conditions and has clear OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) certifications for hips, elbows, and eyes. Our studs, Preacher and Chase, are health cleared and do not have undercoats, leading to less shedding.
Are there any specific requirements for the female dog?
Yes, we require that the female dog also be health cleared. This ensures that both the stud and the female are in optimal health for breeding and the health of the puppies.
What is the weight of your studs?
Both of our studs, Preacher and Chase, weigh around 60 lbs, which is within the ideal range for Golden Retrievers.
Where is the stud service located?
The stud service is located in Lebanon, Linn County, Oregon, United States. We welcome inquiries from interested parties in the local area.
What breed of puppies can I expect?
By utilizing our stud service with our gorgeous Golden Red Retrievers, you can expect beautiful and healthy puppies that inherit the wonderful traits of both parents.
How does the process work?
The process usually involves an initial consultation to discuss your female dog's health clearances, followed by scheduling a breeding session with the stud. We will guide you through each step to ensure a successful pairing.
