Duchess came to us when she was 4 months old (as a rescue cat). I was told that she was abused. It took her almost a year to start roaming the house and almost another year to vye for attention. Ever since, she joins me on the couch while I watch TV and loves to hop in the bed in the mornings with me and cuddles a lot. We have two dogs (both adopted after we got Duchess). It took her a little over a year to get used to them but now is completely unphased by them and even cuddles with the pup that was adopted shortly after her. There haven't been any squabbles amongst them. When Duchess is annoyed she just goes to her "spot" to get alone time. When the real estate market shifted, I had just become an empty-nester and it didn't make any sense to stay in a home of that size. So, I took advantage of the "seller's market", sold my home and moved to a townhome. I'm only allowed 2 pets here and Duchess needs a new, loving home.
Duchess is a rescue cat who came to us when she was just 4 months old. She was initially rescued from an abusive situation, which has shaped her character and needs.
It took almost a year for Duchess to start roaming the house comfortably and another year to seek attention from her human companions. Now she loves to cuddle on the couch and join in bed during mornings.
We have two dogs that were adopted after Duchess. It took her a little over a year to get used to them, but now she is completely unphased and even shares cuddles with one of the pups.
When Duchess feels annoyed or overwhelmed, she retreats to her “spot” where she can have some alone time and relax peacefully.
Due to changes in my living situation and the need to downsize after becoming an empty-nester, I can no longer care for Duchess in my current townhome, where I am only allowed two pets. Duchess is in need of a new, loving home.
Duchess would thrive in a loving and calm environment. She appreciates companionship and enjoys being around both humans and pets, especially if given time to adjust.
Duchess is a beautiful Calico cat located in Grapevine, Tarrant County, Texas, United States.
