A herding breed from Belgium, along with the Malinois, Laekenois, and Tervuren.
This variety is not very common in USA. The long black shiny coat and lion-like collar sets them apart from other belgian dogs particularly the more known malinois. Their graceful apperance, poise and elegance is fit for a royalty or showings. Often resembling bear cubs when they’re little.
Besides their beautiful looks, they are smart, loyal and hardworking making them good-natured family dogs. Groenendales are not your typical dogs, this one is for the active, adventerous and free spirited families.
