Sadly, I need to re-home my beloved Double Yellow Amazon parrot, Bodie. He is 25 years old, and I have owned him since he was a 4-mo old baby bird, so this is a very difficult decision. Since he is in great health, he will very likely out live me and he deserves to be cared for and nurtured by a serious bird lover who can treat him well for the next 20 or so years. He has been an only bird, in a home with no other birds or pets for 21 years and then in my grandson’s home with a friendly dog and 2 cats, for the last 4 years. He has a limited vocabulary and makes numerous sounds such as quacking like a duck. He mostly stays in his huge cage with lots of toys and enjoys lots of attention and occasional showers. In his teen years, he started occasional biting, a habit that he still has, so he is probably not a good fit around children. A great project for someone proficient in bird behavior and training. Bodie is currently in Patterson CA and can be delivered a reasonable distance or picked up In Patterson. I Would like Bodie to end up in a bird loving caring home. Re-homing fee is very reasonable and negotiable.
